The influx of thousands of foreigners and
minorities introduced the local people to
foreign cultures, arts, and lifestyles. The
locals, over time, integrated these different
elements into their own culture. This
integration of things both Chinese and
foreign greatly propelled social progress and
the development of arts and culture during the
Tang Dynasty.
