Real Authentic Genuine Chinese Antiques for Sale Book Box | 19th Century | Zhenjiang, China | Fine Chinese Antique

Book Box | 19th Century | Zhenjiang, China | Fine Chinese Antique

HK$30,000.00

A rectangular portable Box for storing books.

This portable book box is made for the convenience of traveling . There is a C shape metal pull on either side so that a string can go through the pulls and over the top. A pole can be used to carry the box by two people. The frame of the box is joint together using dovetail. The lid is moulded symmetrically around the borders and is beaded on the inner borders. Moulding in gentle relief is used to create a window like rectangle that occupies the central space within the borders creating details that enhance the shape of the box.

A metal lock in the shape of a bat is fastened to the top frame of the lid and a round metal plate with a leaf shaped pull is placed below the lock.

the interior is devided into four parts-the top is a large narrow drawer and the middle part has two shelves and the lowest part is a set of three drawers- two small drawers on top of each other on one side and a large one on the other side that takes up the exact size of space as the two drawers.
