Of elegant proportions, the cabinet has a protruding top frame raised on round-section members and is fitted with single-panel doors, which open to reveal the shelved interior above the beaded apron carved with interlocking scrolls.

A medicine chest with 35 drawers.

The structure of this linear style of chest is termed “square corner” referring to the linearity and squareness of the 4 corners in contrast to other structures with round corners. The frame is of standard mitred construction with floating panels on the top and sides.

Between the front and back legs, a stretcher is used to strengthen the structure. All the wood bars dividing the drawers are beaded along the edges. On each drawer front is a small round metal centrally positioned with a ring. A cusped spandrel in the shape of foliage is used to join the front legs to the bottom bar.
