The intent of this exhibition is to re-orient
Hong Kong students of China’s elite
tradition and culture with the hope of
instilling and inspiring a love for history
and culture
Highlights of the exhibition include
important Shanben (善本書) such as the

24-standard history books with handwritten
commentary by Mr. Chen Yuan (陳垣 one of
the most important sinologists of the early
20th century who specialized in the history
of the Yuan dynasty and the development of
various imported religions in China and whose
students include Qigong (啓功) and Bai Shou
Yi (白壽彝). On display will also be
books from the Ming and Qing imperial
